Halloween in Cinco Ranch: trick-or-treating in 2026

2026-10-02 6 min read By Carol Jukes, Broker/Owner

Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday, October 31, and Cinco Ranch is one of the most family-friendly places in the Houston area to spend it: Mommypoppins' updated 2025 list of the best Houston-area neighborhoods for trick-or-treating puts Cinco Ranch at No. 8. This guide covers what Halloween night is actually like here, the October events verified for 2026 so far, and the association traditions whose dates you will want to confirm closer to the holiday.

Halloween in 2026 falls on Saturday, October 31, which means a full evening of door-to-door trick-or-treating through a community that takes the holiday seriously. Before that night, the calendar fills with a costume contest on the green at LaCenterra, several trunk-or-treats, and the two homeowners associations' own celebrations. This guide covers what is verified for 2026 so far, and what you will need to confirm closer to the date.

Everything below was checked on October 2, 2026, against the venues' own calendars and the local news listings linked at the end of this article. October is the month when Halloween announcements roll out, so a few association events do not have 2026 dates pinned down yet. The honest answer is to confirm those on the official association calendars as they post.

Why Cinco Ranch is known for Halloween

Cinco Ranch does not claim a national crown, but it is consistently recognized as one of the best places in the Houston area to take kids trick-or-treating. Mommypoppins' roundup of the best Houston-area neighborhoods for trick-or-treating, which was updated in 2025, ranks Cinco Ranch No. 8 on the strength of the community's family-friendly layout, well-maintained streets, and festively decorated homes. That reputation plays out on the ground: the community is built out and dense enough that a night of door-to-door trick-or-treating covers a lot of porches in one loop.

Halloween night: what to expect on October 31

Trick-or-treating happens door-to-door on Halloween night throughout Cinco Ranch, and neither association had published community-wide trick-or-treat hours as of October 2, 2026. Most families set their own rhythm, and asking a neighbor on your street is the fastest way to learn when kids in your section start. The basics apply anywhere: a costume that is easy to walk in, a flashlight or glow stick, checking candy before it is eaten, and watching for cars between houses.

The 2026 calendar before the 31st

These are the Halloween and fall events verified for October 2026 at the time of writing, in date order. Details come from the venues' own calendars and local event listings; confirm before you go, and expect the free outdoor events to move or shift in bad weather.

The two associations' own Halloween traditions

Cinco Ranch is divided between Cinco Ranch I and Cinco Ranch II, and each side marks Halloween in its own way through its homeowners association. The 2026 dates had not been announced for either as of October 2, so plan around the pattern and watch the official calendars.

  • Cinco Ranch I (Cinco Residential Property Association) hosts an annual family Trunk or Treat at the association office, 3022 Windemere Park Lane. The most recent edition was Sunday, October 27, 2024, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and past years have followed a Sunday-before-Halloween pattern. Confirm the 2026 date on the association's official calendar at cincoranch.life.
  • Cinco Ranch II (Cinco Ranch Residential Association II) hosts an annual Halloween Carnival and Haunted Lakehouse at the Lake House, 25202 Springwood Lake Drive. Recent editions ran 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. (October 25, 2025, and October 26, 2024). The 2026 date was not posted on mycincoranch.com as of October 2, so watch the association's site and member emails for the announcement.

How to keep the calendar honest

The dates above are the ones that were published and verifiable on October 2, 2026. Association announcements in particular arrive later in October, and last year's Sunday before Halloween is not this year's promise. This site's Things to Do page is refreshed weekly with current, verified events in Cinco Ranch and nearby Katy, and it will carry the association events as soon as the dates are public.
